Scene 1
Abel (V.O): Few experience love at first sight,
(A happy tune plays in the background. Opens with a black screen, mimicking a blink. Centered on a hallway, Cheryl comes from the right while Abel, both high schoolers, walks from the left. They lightly bump shoulders as they make their way in opposite directions. The camera first focuses on the dismissive face of Cheryl, both still walking. The camera then switches to Abel, who turns his head back to his original direction. He is smiling.)
Scene 2
Abel (V.O): but I did.(A black screen flashes again, finishing the blink like a memory. Now, in a cafeteria, positioned afar from the scene, we see Abel approaching the table at which Cheryl and her friends sit. We can see him mouth, "Can I sit here?")
Abel (V.O): Her smile,
(She shakes her head yes with a smile.)

Abel (V.O): We were just kids,
(Abel stands in the center of the camera in a graduation gown, smiling to the right. From the right, Cheryl comes running into his arms, also in a graduation gown. After a tight hug, the guy removes his cap, positioning it over their faces.)
Abel (V.O): without an idea of what life would bring.
(They both lean in, hiding a kiss from the camera behind the cap.)
Scene 6
Abel (V.O): But I was ready to spend the rest of my life with her.
(With a graphic match cut from the graduation cap to a ring box, the camera zooms out to reveal Abel on one knee and Cheryl reacting with her hands over her mouth. She shakes her head yes, teary-eyed.)
Scene 7
(The scene fades to the couple, him in a tux, her in a white dress, and she is holding a bouquet. The officiant stands behind them and mouths, "You may now kiss the bride." He pulls her into a dip, the camera cuts before they can kiss.)
Scene 8
Abel (V.O): She was my first love,
(She holds up a baby onesie with an excited expression. He has a shocked expression. The camera zooms in to the onesie over her stomach, frame fades to show that a belly has replaced the onesie. The camera zooms out to reveal him hugging her from behind.)
Abel (V.O): my best friend.
(The camera turns behind the couple to create a transition. When the camera turns back, a bundled baby has replaced the belly. The couple still remains in the same position. They look at eachother and smile.)
Scene 9
Abel (V.O): With her, I could face anything.
(The couple, now with a grown child, sit in the living room with the same checkerboard as previously. The mom points out to the child a piece on the checkerboard. The child eagerly moves the piece, winning the game. On the opposite side of the board the dad looks defeated. When the kid turns to hug his mom, the dad hides a smile from them.)
Scene 10
Abel (V.O): Until we had to face the biggest challenge of all.
(Music slows down and turns sad. Cheryl stands by the sink, washing dishes. Her expression suddenly changes, she feels unwell. She slowly starts to lose balance, and she closes her eyes as she falls back. Abel reaches her just in time, stopping her from falling down. He looks at her worriedly, lifting up her face.)
Scene 11
(Music turns from sad to eerie. Now in a hospital setting, the woman sits in a hospital bed with her husband's hand on her back. Back facing the camera, a doctor holds a clipboard. The couple cries as they shake their head no.)
Abel (V.O): We vowed 'till death do us part.
(Women now lies in a hospital bed, she looks tired and paler than before. He's standing next to her, handing her flowers. She smiles weakly at him, while they hold hands.)
(Scene cuts to a heartbeat monitor. The camera focuses and the line becomes flat. A loud beep from the monitor takes over all the sound. The camera turns to him, while he screams and cries in desperation, running towards her bed. Shot turns to a black screen again.)
Abel (V.O): But now that it has, I can't convince myself she's actually gone.
Scene 12
Abel: Losing her feels like losing half of my soul. I was blessed to be her husband.
